Few people understand the time involved in writing a blog. New bloggers discover it’s a commitment, a demanding addition to an already busy life. I wrote a popular daily blog about living green on Cape Cod for 10 years and gave it up before the pandemic. Now, I write twice a month, providing an update on my activities. For instance, yesterday I discovered a new independent bookshop in Boston’s South End. I attended the book launch for my friend Alison Langley’s first novel Budapest Noir, Ilona Gets a Phone. Michelle Hoover, on the right in the photo, interviewed me a year ago for The Nansen Factor so now Alison, on the left, and I have that in common.  Parkside Bookshop offers a lovely quiet atmosphere. The curated selection of books is inviting, with short recommendations below shelves written in longhand. I could see spending long hours in one of the leather chairs, in front of the beautiful marble fireplace.
