Yesterday Yelena Lembersky and I discussed our books at the Wellfleet Library. Mine, a short story collection: The Nansen Factor, Refugee Stories. Hers, a memoir: Like a Drop of Ink in a Downpour. The event was well attended. (Above view shows one third of the audience.) One guest even declared that the reading had been “the highlight” of his summer. Talk about enthusiasm. The hour passed quickly and soon it was time to leave. I sold fifteen books. I had hoped to welcome some former readers of my old blog “Wellfleet Today,” summer visitors from out of town, but unfortunately none showed up. I had placed a classified ad in the Provincetown Independent in an attempt to get in touch, but no luck. Still, Yelena and I both enjoyed ourselves, as did most of the members of the audience. Check out their faces!
