I posted another Goodreads Giveaway for Seeing Joy on June 1. Four days later, over 1000 people have already requested it. Know what you can do to help an author? Ask your library to order a copy. Then, borrow it from the library and once you have read the book, post a review on Goodreads or Amazon. Reviews do matter. Today, on Zoom, I was chatting with college friends about reviews. Those of us who write reviews (on books, opera, art shows) commented that they attempt to say something nice no matter what. Writing and publishing a book is hard work and takes time. I’m hoping you will all enjoy Seeing Joy and say so to encourage others to read my memoir. In the meantime, here’s a photo of my mom way before I took care of her, before I was even born, before she met my father and got married. The memoir not only records her final months but dips back into the past to provide an idea of her life. Do get yourself a copy.
